Hooray for Politics

Hooray For Politics

Our local politicians have not been shy about appearing in the Lynden Spring Revue.

Jim Robb (photo above and below) was a regional councillor for many years, and mayor of Flamborough. Jim sang bass in the choir, appeared in many skits and was a valuable member of the Lynden Community Choir executive.

Reg Woodworth (Professor Xylo, photo above) spent 34 consecutive years on the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board and was a tenor in the choir for nearly as long.

Amos Kitchen, a Beverly reeve, emceed the 1974 spring revue.

Former MP John Bryden has brought to life many a colourful character in the skits he writes. In return, the Lynden Spring Revue provided the "Give My Regards to Broadway" sign, complete with flashing circular lights, for John's first successful political campaign in 1993. The sign was changed to read "Vote For Bryden".

From the skit "Cinderella's Step Sisters Before the Ball"

Peter Evans was Cinderella.
After playing such roles a few times
(to much acclaim) Peter said, "no more."
